According to a new public poll, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has been named as the most beautiful British woman alive on earth.



Catherine Zeta-Jones is certainly the most popular Welsh figure and a well-known actress of Hollywood. She was born on 25 September 1969 in Wales, one of the island countries belonging to United Kingdom.



At an early age, she started acting on stage to become a popular and successful actress in later years. In 1988, she gained huge fame for her role in The Mast of Zorro that proved to be a milestone for her career in Hollywood.




In 1999, she again got huge acclamation for her role in the crime thriller movie Entrapment and in 2000, she won her first Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress-Motion Picture for her role in the film Traffic.



In 2002, she appeared as Velma Kelly in the critically acclaimed and commercially huge hit Chicago.



She received many awards for her role in Chicago including an Academy Award, BAFTA Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.



Recently, the 41-year-old Welsh beauty Catherine Zeta-Jones topped the list of most beautiful women.



She won against much younger British beauties including Cheryl Cole, 28 years old, and Kelly Brook, 31 years old.




Zeta-Jones gained the fourth position in the all time most beautiful British women list.

‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’ star Audrey Hepburn was announced as the All Time Most beautiful British woman in that list. Audrey Hepburn died in 1993.



Audrey Hepburn was followed by Elizabeth Taylor at number 2 in the list of all time most beautiful women.

Elizabeth Taylor was Hollywood’s last great old school star who died last year.



Princes Diana gained the third position in that list. Recently, the digitally altered pictured of Princess Diana that shows how she might have been appeared at the age of 50 years have been making news.




Catherine Zeta-Jones had to compete with many other beautiful ladies and she was chosen as the most beautiful British woman alive in a survey of 2,000 men and women viewers.

Zeta-Jones is not only the most beautiful British woman alive; one can say that she is one of the most honest wife too.



Zeta-Jones married Michael Douglas on November 18, 2000 and the couple has two children. Zeta-Jones claims that when they met, he used the line "I'd like to father your children." Zeta-Jones currently lives in New York City, New York with her family.



The couple planned on renewing their wedding vows in 2010 as part of their 10th wedding anniversary.



The idea was of Zeta-Jones, and came after Douglas was found to have advanced stages of cancer.



One report notes that "Michael was in tears when she suggested it to him," and he sees it as a “wonderful expression of love.”




In April 2011, Zeta-Jones sought treatment for bipolar II disorder, checking herself into Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut.
