Monte Carlo Renews the Memories of Grace Kelly

Three popular actresses, Disney star Selena Gomez, Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester, and Melrose Place’s Katie Cassidy are working together for their new film project, Monte Carlo.

The time is matching with the recent royal marriage at Monte Carlo in Monaco because of which, a new interest in the small Monaco principality is rising again and obviously it is all related with the beautiful memories of the beautifully hot yet tragic princess Grace Kelly’s memories which have been stoked.

Selena Gomez, Katie Cassidy and Leighton Meester will certainly be surprised by knowing that their upcoming movie is already making a hit buzz.

Grace Kelly lead a life matching with the stories of fairy tale and her royal marriage made women feel like anything was possible. More than often, Grace Kelly was used to be compared to America’s first lady Jacqueline Kennedy.

While Katie Cassidy, Selena Gomez and Leighton Meester have already created a mood for remembering beautiful Grace Kelly, let us share a few things about late Princess Grace.

Her only son married recently. Grace Kelly had a single son, Prince Albert II, who is now 53 years old and he married Charlene Wittstock recently on last Friday. The wedding took place in Monte Carlo, in the throne room of the palace. New York Times reported that this marriage was the first for a ruling prince since Prince Rainier III, father of Prince Albert II married Grace Kelly.

She would’ve been 81 years old now. Grace Kelly died in a tragic car crash in September of 1982. She was 52 years old at that time and now she might have been 81 years old. She had three children, Prince Albert, Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie.

She belonged to a rich family with legacy. Grace Kelly was the daughter of Jack Brendan Kelly who was an Olympic gold medalist. Being a prominent democrat once he narrowly lost the chance to become mayor of Philadelphia. George Kelly was her uncle and he was a gay because of which he was estranged from the family. In 1926, he became the first gay to win a Pultizer Prize for his play, Craig’s Wife.

She won an Oscar only after acting for six years. She was a naturally talented actress. At the age of 19, she started acting on Broadway in the year 1948. In 1951, she got her first chance to appear on celluloid. After working for three years in a dozen of films, she earned an Oscar Academy Award in 1954 for her role in The Country Girl.

She was very American. During her last television interview for ABC’s 20/20 in June of 1982 with Pierre Salinger, she expressed how closely American she feels even after being the Princess of Monaco for more than two decades. During that interview, she said, “In many ways I feel European, but certainly my education is American and I’m still very much American.” After a few months, she died in that tragic car crash.
